OCLA's Services
What Services are Available?Okaloosa County Legal Aid, Inc.'s mission is to provide civil legal assistance to the indigent of Okaloosa County. We provide assistance in the following areas of law:
Family Law Matters OCLA handles limited family law. We accept applications periodically throughout the year. Please contact the office for more information. We do not handle either Juvenile Law or Probate. Case Guidelines OCLA case type guidelines are established by the local bar association. Financial eligibility is based on 125% of the poverty guidelines as determined by the Federal Government’s Department of Labor. Funding of one staff person and general program support is through a grant by The Florida Bar Foundation’s IOTA program and from donations by private attorneys. Contact OCLA at the County Courthouse Annex in Shalimar, Florida, for more information at (850) 651-7254. * Only a limited number of dissolution of marriage (divorce) and child custody cases can be taken per year. Please call us for more information. Qualifying Disclaimer Okaloosa County Legal Aid, Inc. (OCLA) provides civil legal assistance to people who qualify for assistance who are residents of Okaloosa County, Florida. Qualifying is based on federal financial eligibility standards that are based on a combination of gross income and number of people in the household, among other factors. |
